Meet the Founder – Eddie de Olazabal

Edgard “Eddie” de Olazabel has over 15 years of experience in construction, restoration, insurance claims and dispute resolution. He specializes in 3rd Party Consulting, Inspections, Claim Analysis, Estimating, Expert Witness, Appraisals and Umpire work throughout Florida. As a Licensed General Contractor, Licensed Florida All-Lines Adjuster, Certified Umpire & Appraiser, Eddie has an unrivaled level of expertise.
Eddie launched Assess to help attorneys, contractors, property managers, HOAs, residential and commercial property owners assess their properties, structures, windows and roofing systems and have peace of mind knowing it’s done right by a team of licensed experts.
Eddie knows firsthand the importance of structural stability, routine property maintenance, building codes and safety protocols. Eddie has inspected thousands of properties throughout the state and has also worked numerous major storm events including tornadoes, wind, hail and water damage claims, as well as Hurricanes Wilma, Sally, Irma, Michael, and Ian.
Eddie began his career in property claims in 2005 in catastrophe response to Hurricane Wilma, working with the Resolutions Unit for Citizens Property Insurance. He served as a liaison between the Catastrophe Claims department and homeowners, insurance agents and public adjusters. He went on to work for multiple large national insurance carriers and independent adjusting firms, supervising field and review teams and analyzing adjuster analytics to ensure compliance with client metrics. Eddie went on to work as an Appraiser and Loss Consultant, and conducted re-inspections for both insurance companies and homeowners. He has been deployed for first notice of loss (FNOL) inspections to many catastrophic events immediately after the storm. Eddie holds an MBA from the University of Miami and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Florida State University. Eddie is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence is unparalleled.
